The next version of LEED, known as LEED v3, will launch on April 27, 2009. This new version has three main components:
• LEED 2009 – the actual technical rating/certification system
• A more user-friendly, reliable and faster LEED online service
• An expanded certification infrastructure administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI)
The new LEED Reference Guides will be available for purchase from USGBC beginning March 27, 2009.
The last date that candidates can register to take the current LEED NC v2.2 and LEED CI v2.0 LEED AP credentialing exams is March 31, 2009. Registration for that exam must be received by midnight March 31 to allow candidates to take the current LEED AP exam by June 30, 2009. After that, the new exam schedule will be introduced.
