Green Building Standard program is gaining momentum

The NAHB Green Building Standard program is gaining momentum. In March of this year the first home certified to the new standard, in Tucson, AZ, was featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.  In addition, the Village in Burns Harbor, a community in northwest Indiana, became the first in the country to receive land development certification in the NAHB  National Green Building Standard.  The 60 acre site utilized unused fields and old steel property and commercial land.   The natural water drainage and water features were preserved in the project.
