A publicly disclosed industry survey of over 600 architects, commissioned by PPG Industries, concluded that architects consider Durability to be the most important attribute of a “green” building product. Other criteria cited as being important to architects include ENERGY STAR compliance, lifecycle assessment, no or low VOC content, and the ability to source products regionally, in that order of importance.
Architects said their most important sources of product information are manufacturers’ websites and internet searches. However traditional resources such as sales and technical binders remain important.
