The Institute for Market Transformation to Sustainability announced a new set of underwriting standards for investors interested in backing commercial green building projects. The forthcoming standards are ANSI Approved. They are the result of a four-year collaboration with Capital Markets Partnership, a coalition of banks, money managers and governments. The partnership is also working on a securities product called “Sustainable Building Securities”, which is a bond that is backed 100% by green mortgages.
