“Building EQ” labeling program

On December 8, 2009 ASHRAE launched a pilot of the new “Building EQ” labeling program.  ASHRAE’s renovated headquarters building, which received LEED Platinum certification, scored an A- in the building energy labeling program.  The US GSA has committed to participate in the program, along with other large developers and designers.  ASHRAE anticipates that the Building EQ program will result in different levels of documentation, such as a simple label for public review, a certificate for the building owner, and a more detailed report for architects and engineers.
