The Energy Performance Score index provides homeowners with energy consumption and carbon emission scores. The EPS software uses in-home measurements, diagnostic data and utility energy source data to calculate the scores.
The DOE has reportedly targeted October 2010 as the deadline for developing a voluntary national rating standard that can serve as a tool for lending institutions to provide preferred mortgages and loans for energy efficient homes.
