Architectural Billing Index

For the first time since January 2008, the Architecture Billings Index from the AIA indicated growth in design activity in September 2010.  The data are part of a four-month trend showing increased billings. The index reflects a lag of approximately 9-12 months between billings and construction spending.  A score greater than 50 indicates an increase in demand for design services. The score in August was 48.2 and in September it was 50.4.
