McGraw Hill Construction has published a special report titled “Green Outlook 2011”. It points to green buildings as one of construction’s fastest growing sectors. Between 2008 and 2010 green building starts increased 50%. In 2011 McGraw Hill estimates that green buildings will account for a third of all new non-residential construction, totaling $54 billion in starts. The report also predicts that by 2015 non-residential green building markets will nearly triple. Retrofit and renovation green building activity could increase from the current $5 billion market to $18 billion by 2015.
