Seattle University and Plastic Bottles

Seattle University is now the sixth university to stop selling plastic bottled water on campus. It is participating in the “Think Outside the Bottle” campaign developed by Corporate Accountability International. This initiative aims to restore faith in public tap water by encouraging businesses to forgo bottled water in favor of tap.  Supporters of this move state that tap water costs thousands of times less than bottled water for the same product.  Public water systems are regulated and accountable to the public for water source and quality, but many bottlers are not.
