According to a study by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), on-bill financing – or paying for energy efficiency improvements through utility bills – is becoming more widely available across the country and therefore more organizations are participating. Energy Efficiency loan programs are a low-risk investment and default rates for on-bill financing are less than 2%. In many cases the energy savings from upgrades are sufficient to cover the monthly financing on the utility bill.
