Innovative thinking from our Georgia facility has provided Florida architects a new design weapon in meeting the requirements of stringent Florida Building Codes and Miami-Dade approvals. PAC has found a way to curve our Tite-Loc Plus metal roofing panel, typically only available for straight applications, to meet the elegant design of curved metal roofs while also withstanding 140 mph windloads. Completed in the summer of 2010, the Pier Park Concessions and Restroom Buildings incorporated 3600 SF of 12” on-center Tite-Loc Plus metal roofing panels in .040 Silver. The panels for the eye-catching barrel roof area were factory formed and curved at the site. The project is located directly on the beach in Panama City, FL, so not only will the 180 degree seamed panels meet the negative load uplifts for the project, but the .040 aluminum with high performance Kynar coating will withstand the harsh saltwater environment. The project also included 1000 SF of .040 Silver 2.67 x 7/8” corrugated panels, which also have Florida Building Product Approval, for the soffits. The project was installed by Peach State Roofing, with locations in Milton, FL and Lawrenceville, GA, and was supplied by Commercial Roofing Specialties (CRS), Colllege Park, GA. Lead architect was Bayne Collins, Principal, Collins & Associates.
