Founded in 1928, the Highland School in Warrenton VA added a New Lower School, dedicated on September 13, 2010. Featuring over 19,000 SF of 16″ Snap Clad in .032 aluminum with a PAC-CLAD Hemlock Green finish, the school boasts two wings that come together at a striking domed roof. The project garnered LEED Silver certification, with Petersen material adding to the certification with:
- Materials & Resources – Recycle content – 82.30% pre-consumer and 9.7% post-consumer
- Heat Island Effect (SS 7.2) – Hemlock Green offers an SRI of 30
Roofing installer for the project was Anderson Roofing and Sheet Metal of Winchester VA, and General Contractor was Howard Shockey & Sons, also of Winchester VA. Architect of Record is Davis Carter Scott, McLean, VA.
