The location of St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City, SC – just four blocks from the Atlantic Ocean – creates an idyllic setting, yet requires specific attention to material selection. Metal standing seam panels provide unmatched aesthetics and strength, but for installations exposed to salt air climates, ALUMINUM is the appropriate substrate.
The new worship center of St. Michael’s features 30,000 SFT of Petersen Aluminum’s Tite-Loc Plus panel in .040 aluminum coated with PAC-CLAD Dark Bronze Kynar finish. The panel itself is a 180 degree mechanically seamed panel for superior strength, meeting the desired negative load uplifts for this project, as well as Air & Water Testing requirements. The PAC-CLAD Kynar finish over the aluminum substrate also offers a 20 year Coastal Finish Warranty for long-term beauty.
The project also featured 2000 SF of Petersen’s 12” wide Flush panel for use in soffit applications. The project was installed by Metalcon, Inc., of Wilmington, NC, and Architect-of-Record was LS3P Neal Prince Architects of Greenville, SC.
