Mike Petersen, president of Petersen Aluminum Corporation, accepted the MCA Chairman’s Award, an annual designation for outstanding building projects featuring metal technologies and solutions. The award was presented at Metalcon, held in Chicago, IL. Joining Mike Petersen (holding the plaque) is Don McCoy (to the right of Mike Petersen) of Oakland Metal Sales, Auburn Hills, Michigan, long-time PAC distributor. Also pictured are Todd Miller, MCA Chair and president of Isaiah Industries; Mark Engle, executive director of MCA; and Andy Koglin, member of MCA’s judging panel and president of OKW Architects.
Originally built in 1857, the complete renovation was a labor of love for architect Scott McElrath of Dangerous Architects, Chelsea Michigan. The project utilized PAC’s 24 GA 7/8” Corrugated exposed fastener panels, highlighted by trim details in PAC-CLAD Terra Cotta and Patina Green Kynar finish. Installer for the project was Detail Roofing of Ypsilanti, MI, and the material was supplied by Oakland Metal Sales.
