The new Park Place Apartments at the University of South Carolina in Columbia provides all of the amenities that today’s college student could possibly want. The building offers furnished and unfurnished units ranging from one-bedroom studios to five-bedroom group living apartments. A parking garage for 450 cars and 160 bikes is included in the development along with an amenity center, exterior courtyard, pool and spa.
The building’s bold architectural design was created by Kitchen & Associates in Collingswood, N.J. Approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of PAC-CLAD 7/8-in. Corrugated Wall Panels in 24-gauge steel finished in Black color prominently highlight the five-story structure’s exterior.
Installation of the Petersen panels was done by Achelpohl Roofing in Columbia. “It’s the first time we’ve used the PAC-CLAD Corrugated on a job that big,” said Amanda Achelpohl. “But we’re currently using it on two other jobs that we have in the works. Metal panels seem to be getting even more popular. They really offer a nice clean look with good longevity.”
The general contractor on the project was McCrory Construction Co. in Columbia.
