And We Have Liftoff…

It really isn’t rocket science that the Petersen Aluminum Tite-Loc Plus mechanically seamed panel was the perfect solution for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Maintenance Building. Not only is it an aesthetically pleasing panel that features the modern look of Champagne Metallic PAC-CLAD, but the 16” on center panel easily meets the design pressures required on the Florida coast. 22,500 square feet of panels were produced from .040 aluminum and meet the stringent requirements of the Florida Building Product Approval Code as well as Miami-Dade. Additionally, Petersen can provide a 20-Year Coastal finish warranty on the PAC-CLAD Kynar finish material for this and other projects located so close to the coast and other salt-water environments.

The building is located adjacent to the Space Center silos. Roofing contractor for the project was Quality Metals of Sanford, FL, and the architect of record was Frank Ramos of Jones Edmunds Architects, Titusville, FL.
