Magic Metal Make-Over

And yes, it really is better than Botox.

Petersen’s line of standing seam metal roofing panels and wall panels have always been known to be the ideal solution for new
construction projects. But our products, with superior strength, design flexibility and unmatched aesthetics, can provide a facelift so stunning, the buildings are almost unrecognizable upon completion.

Georgia Southern University, Facilities Planning Design and Construction
Building, Statesboro GA. This makeover included the gutting of the entire interior and exterior, featuring 1500 SF of the Petersen Tite-Loc 90-degree mechanically seamed standing seam panel in Cityscape for the roof. The walls were clad in PAC’s 7.2 exposed fastener panel used for ribbed siding, also in PAC-CLAD Kynar 500 Cityscape.

The installation was managed by Clay Chandler, Chandler Roofing & Specialty Metals of Statesboro, GA, and all material was supplied through top Georgia distributor, Commercial Roofing Specialties (CRS), Savannah, GA location. The architect of record for the project, completed in Spring, 2011, was the Facility Planning Design & Construction Department at the Georgia Southern University.

On St. Johns in the Virgin Islands, PAC provided 58,000 SF of new Snap Clad panels that transformed tired cedar shakes into a truly elegant look fitting of a Westin Resort Hotel property. Architect L2 Studios of Orlando, FL envisioned a bright palette for the tropical island setting and accomplished this with custom color Platinum in 12” on center, .040 aluminum panels. The standing seam metal roofing panels not only provide shear beauty but also stand up to the high wind loads experienced in the islands. For additional visual punch. PAC-CLAD Berkshire Blue Snap Clad panels were utilized for the awnings.

The .040 aluminum substrate with high performance PAC-CLAD Kynar 500 coating is highly suitable to abrasive environments such as coastal and saltwater applications. The choice of Petersen products should ensure the Westin Resort will experience the beauty of the Platinum and Berkshire Blue for many, many years to come.

The re-roofing project was expertly completed by Premiere Roofing of Sanford, FL. Petersen has supplied several other Westin property
projects on St Johns and looks forward to this continuing relationship.
