Metal roof adds to “Old Southern Architecture” of Mississippi shopping mall

Approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of Petersen’s PAC-CLAD metal roof panels contributed to the “old Southern architecture” of the Outlets of Mississippi shopping mall in Pearl, Miss. The 326,000-sq.-ft. mall is the largest outdoor shopping center in the state. The aesthetic intent for the facility is reflected through the use of historic colors, materials and references to Georgian and other architectural styles and motifs.

The 24 gauge Snap-Clad panels cover the roofs and design components on five sprawling buildings that accommodate 85 retail tenants. The Snap-Clad panels were finished in Cool Color Granite. An additional 30,000 sq. ft. of Petersen flat sheet was utilized for flashings, gutters and downspouts on the TPO portion of the roofs.

Architectural design for the project was created by Dale Partners & Associates in Jackson, Miss. The roofing contractor was Pierre Construction Group in Stone Mountain, Ga. The Petersen distributor on the project was Commercial Roofing Specialties (CRS) in Atlanta.
