Petersen, Carlisle give wall designers more options

Carlisle Spray Foam Insulation and Petersen are pleased to announce that an exterior wall assembly with SealTite™ PRO closed-cell spray foam insulation and PAC-CLAD® aluminum cladding has passed the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 285 Standard. This gives designers a new flush wall panel option with 45 standard color choices.

This new assembly expands designers’ cladding options beyond masonry when using spray foam as continuous insulation on exterior walls of any height, while satisfying IBC (International Building Code) requirements. Refer to UL FWFO.EWS0054 for wall assembly details with:

  • SealTite PRO Closed Cell Spray Foam
  • IFTI’s (International Fireproof Technology Inc.) DC315 with weather resistant topcoat
  • PAC-CLAD aluminum cladding

Conducted at the UL Fire Safety Research Institute in Northbrook, Ill., the NFPA 285 test provides a method of determining the flammability characteristics of exterior, non-load-bearing wall assemblies/panels. The test permits evaluation and approval of combustible components within wall assemblies/panels of buildings that are required to be of non-combustible construction.
