Snap-Clad aluminum roofing perfect for Florida beachfront resort
Multiple buildings in the expansive new Westman Lodge compound on Plantation Key in Islamorada, Fla., are protected with Petersen’s Snap-Clad .032-in. aluminum panels. As usual, aluminum is the material of choice in the highly corrosive saltwater environment. The residence is directly on the water in a resort-like setting with its own pier, guest house and service buildings.
“This was the perfect Snap-Clad application,” said Sal Delfino, Petersen’s Florida technical manager. “The Snap-Clad profile met the necessary Florida code requirements. It’s an ‘installer-friendly’ system that’s versatile yet reliable. And it certainly achieved the architectural aesthetics that were necessary for this high-end property.”
Architectural design for the project was created by Siskind Carlson & Partners in Miami. The PAC-CLAD panels were fabricated at Petersen’s manufacturing plant in Acworth, Ga., and installed by Rapid Roofing Inc. in Florida City, Fla.
