Corrugated metal panels add tasty flair to grocery store
Mariano’s Fresh Market has opened as the anchor tenant in Phase II of the Stony Creek Promenade in Oak Lawn, Ill., with its signature metal adornment provided by Petersen Aluminum. Mariano’s is a corporate branch of Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Inc. retail grocery group.
The façade of the building, including the signature rotunda, is clad with 5,000 sq. ft. of Petersen Aluminum’s PAC-CLAD corrugated panels. The .875” panels were finished in Silver Metallic. All panels were manufactured at Petersen Aluminum’s Elk Grove Village, Ill., plant. In addition, approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of PAC-CLAD flat sheet was used for flashings and fascia.
Design for the project was created by Camburas & Theodore Ltd. in Des Plaines, Ill. Installation of the PAC-CLAD panels was completed by WBR Roofing Co. in Wauconda, Ill.
According to Petersen Aluminum sales representative Roy Palesny, “The rotunda required tapering of the shop-fabricated flush panels to meet the design specs. That was a bit of a challenge but WBR did a great job on the installation and the project turned out great.”
