New College Admin Building Ready to Face the Challenge of Florida Weather
At first glance, the New College Adminstration Building in Sarasota, Florida is another architecturally pleasing structure featuring Petersen Aluminum’s Tite-Loc Plus standing seam metal panels. But look deeper and find that this building does more than win the beauty contest.
David Moss of Moss Specs, Sarasota Florida, selected the metal roofing from the start, making a bold statement to the building that sits at the entrance to the campus. But the strength and design flexibility of the Tite-Loc Plus mechanically seamed panels sealed the deal. PAC’s Tite-Loc Plus panels not only meet the requirements of Miami-Dade NOA’s and Florida Building Approvals, but also boast the Hurricane Shelter Approval per the Florida Department of Education.
The project, installed by Murton Roofing, a TECTAAMERICA Company, featured 20,000 square feet of the 16” wide roofing panels, produced in .040 aluminum with a PAC-CLAD Zinc Metallic Kynar 500 finish. Also included on the project was the PAC 850 soffit panel, available in fully vented, half-vented and solid profiles.
Completed in summer of 2011, the project was designed by Architect-of-Record Moule & Polyzoides Architects, of Pasadena, CA.
